I welcome you all into the 1st of June 2020. This is officially my first blog on my brand new website. Today is also the 67th day of lockdown in my country, South Africa. This lockdown time gave me the opportunity to work on my brand, known as Olckers Drumming. I trust that you also worked on some ideas that you never got time to do, for now is a good time to get around to do it and dust off those dreams!
As this is my first blog, I will give a short description of what my aim is with Olckers Drumming, what to expect from me as the owner and what makes Olckers Drumming different from the vast amount of drumming sites, tutors, online courses, apps, etc.
At Olckers Drumming I will aim to create a connection point with each and every student that becomes a part of Olckers Drumming, whether it be through online tutoring or one on one lessons. I believe that it is not only lessons that will be taught through this medium, but also a lifestyle of character, integrity and discipline.
The one thing that I believe that will make Olckers Drumming different than all the other vast platforms out there, is my approach to taking on a long term journey with each and every student, not just through tutoring, but also through life. I believe that, as the student grow and learn through lessons and time spent together, so a life long relationship of friendship will also be established and not just be a source of income generated through lessons for me!
Lastly. Drumming, like most things worth doing in life, does take discipline. Yes, it is fun and it brings a lot of joy, but most people that know me, knows that I live a life of discipline and through that, I believe, creates solid character and integrity. The lessons taught will be fun and filled with joy, but also disciplined and structured. This I believe will create within each student, a dependable character and integrity and this will eventually transpire into every area of the students life, whether it be a young student just starting out or an adult student that’s already established.
